Mountain Biking Big Chief

Good beginner trail, fantastic views. I first pedaled the shorter Great Pyramid Loop on a 6 speed fat tire town cruiser. Brought the mountain bike out for the Big Chief Loop. One climb, I still have to carry/push my bike.

Great beginner trail with no dabs. The eastern side of the trail is more rocky and the western side is more hardpack dirt. $10 entrance fee. Difficult to get lost as there are few trails and signs at each intersection. Not very technical at all. Good views at overlooks.

Part of the Intrepid Trail System in Dead Horse Point State Park, the Big Chief Loop is the more challenging of the 3 trails here. Outstanding views of Canyonlands and Lockhart Basin mixed with fun singletrack make this a must ride for anyone visiting the area.
