Mountain Biking Black Canyon
#11 of 256 mountain bike trails in Wyoming
Trail starts at the parking lot ontop of the pass. Take the service road on the west side of the parking lot. The road will turn into singletrack when you reach a service building about 5-10 minutes from the start. Singletrack will head uphill through a meadow for about 1.3 miles to the top of Mt Elly. The trail will then proceed down all the way to the parking lot. Trail winds down through Black Canyon through wildflower meadows and timber forest. Moose are not uncommon to encouter and it is bear area.

With a shuttle, trail starts on top of Teton Pass and ends at the Trail Creek trailhead. The trailcreek trail head is located outside of Wilson WY on the left side of the road as you start up the pass. You will turn left onto Trail Creek road and continue to the trailhead. Leave the car there then head to the top of Teton Pass. Teton Pass is located between Victor Idaho and Wilson Wy.

For a lowlander from Seattle the initial climb is brutal (800' climb from 8500'?!) but the views are brilliant! This is definitely more of a cross country trail with no real obstacles, berms, jumps, etc. Per the locals I met, watch for moose and be sure to practice your "hey bears!"
Thank |Very impressive trail. The access is so great if you can get a lift to the pass. Nice easy climb passing epic views of the Jackson basin. Did this in mid-July and the shrub was so thick and tall I was literally mowing it with my knuckles. Nothing overwhelming... just a fun, fast DH trail with a handful of small drops and opportunity to catch a llittle air.
Thank |Great trail in the Jackson area. Starts with a stiff climb but ends with a great DH. Bring a bell for bears.
Thank |Rode this without suspension 20 years ago as a big loop out of Wilson. Still lives on my Top 10 Ever list.
Thank |Best trail on Teton pass. If you do the ride with a shuttle. The trail starts with @1.3 mile uphill climb. 1 small section of hike a bike for most. View into the Jackson Hole backcountry from the top of the trail is awesome. Downhill has some tight turns to start. Roots and root drops are on the trail. Once it hits the tight canyon you enter a heavily treed area. Some small creek crossings followed by a nice run out back to the shuttle ride.
