Mountain Biking Blacktail Mountain Road
#118 of 265 mountain bike trails in Montana
18 miles and roughly 4,000 vertical feet of climbing up to the top of Blacktail
Mountain via a dirt/gravel road... this is one epic ride up, and one epic ride
downtown! Take it from me: if it is just starting to warm in the valley, it will
still be freezing b*** cold at the summit 4,000 feet higher. and the little
dampness of the climb will turn into a freezing mud spray on the way down.
do this in the summer!! And yes, it is a serious stinking climb!

Park at the Blacktail Grocery store in Lakeside, Montana. Start heading up
the Blacktail road towards the ski resort.
This is a long climb but it has some excellent views! All gravel road. Intermediate rating because it is a massive climb, but it is not technically difficult at all.
