Mountain Biking Blevins Via Meridian

#206 of 417 mountain bike trails in Arizona

The ride East down Meridian trail is a one mile intermediate to beginner ride. However if you can stay on the pedals through the several dry wash crossings you are definitely not a beginner. If you are a beginner, walk the bike. After passing various trail signs you will come to one for the Blevins trail. Turn right and enjoy more dry wash challenges and beautiful views. After a mile you'll come to the main parking area with portable toilets and water. The trail continues just across the parking lot to the West. There are several opportunities to get some minor air at the start of this trail. When the trail turns South you can get a really fast ride downhill before the trail turns East. Then look forward to a lot more dry wash crossings before meeting back up with Meridian trail and riding East back to where you started.

Getting there
You need to get to Meridian Road in Apache Junction just East of Mesa on Highway 60. Meridian Road does not have an exit from Hwy 60. It is located between the Signal Butte and Ironwood exits. Make your way to Meridian and head North towards the mountains. The parking for the trail
is on the left almost at the end of the road. There is a pay station here. I usually pay to help the county maintain the trail. They have made big improvements specifically geared towards mountain bikers since I started riding here just last year.

Great beginner trail loop. It is either slightly uphill or downhill. A few dips through washes. Combine this with cats peak, moon rock, and ruidoso/county line to make it more intersting and long. Go fast if it's too easy or do cats peak multiple times. Cats peak is a little steep and slightly technical, but otherwise everything else is very tame. Very beautiful desert topography and mountain views.
Ride in fee is $2 or $6 to park.
