Mountain Biking Boren Mesa
#659 of 709 mountain bike trails in Utah
Boren Mesa is a trail in the Moonlight Meadows region of the La Sal Mountains. From the trailhead, the trail gently climbs to the top of a ridge through aspen forests. Keep your eyes out for an overlook because the views into the redrock desert from that high up can be mind-boggling. After reaching the top, the trail bombs down to Oowah Lake, which can be a good place for a swim. Although there are some roots and rocks on this trail, there's nothing too bad in terms of technicality.

From Moab, take US Highway 191 south. Then, turn left onto Old Airport Road before you go out of Spanish Valley. A quick right after that will get you onto the La Sal Mountain Loop, which you'll be staying on for awhile. Once you're in the mountains, turn right onto FR 71 towards Geyser Pass. The trailhead will be a small pull-off on one of the switchbacks above FR 68.
