Mountain Biking Bottle Lake Forest Park
#33 of 193 mountain bike trails in South Island
The quality of the Bottle Lake Forest Park trails varies but they are generally easy, all-weather and fun. It's a flat area with gentle undulations and you'll come across swooping curves and gentle berms along with some generally straight stuff.
There's a map board at the car park which you'll need to study carefully to avoid setting off down a horse trail or running track. Once you get underway the trails the signs are reasonable but you'll probably get lost once or twice. Just keep going - you'll soon come across a good sign or someone to follow.
The park is close to the city and is popular with families on weekends and flocks of fitness riders fly round them in the evenings.
There is a skills area by the car park with some muddy rollers and a couple of long six inch bridges that are guaranteed to take you out.
