Mountain Biking Broadside
#386 of 417 mountain bike trails in Arizona
Broadside Trail is a 3.3 mile bidirectional singletrack trail. It was constructed to replace the climb up the Old FS Road (FSR #6353) also known as Climb 3. It is primarily considered as an access trail/climb to the new (as of May 2024) downhill only Full Sail Trail (and other trails in the area). It is a fine downhill in itself but not in the same class as Full Sail. The trail ascends 700' and stays under 6% slope to make for a rather easy climb.

From the junction of Hwy 180 and Schultz Pass Road (SPR), take a right onto SPR. In about 0.4 mi, take the left fork to remain on SPR. Then follow SPR 4.75 mi to FR 6353 and the Sunset Trailhead parking lot on your right. Park here. Broadside Trail (along with others) begin here. If you get to the Weatherford Trailhead and the parking at Schultz Tank, you've gone about a quarter mile too far.
