Brushy Mtn is a fire road that climbs all the way from the base up to the top of the ridge. Most people use this as the main "Thousand foot climb" and as the primary access to the gnarly trails dropping off the ridge. The road is normally gated, but sometimes the Parks & Rec department will open it up and run shuttles to the top.
