Mountain Biking Calvin Crest
#3 of 36 mountain bike trails in Nebraska
Calvin Crest mtb trail is located on the bluffs of the Platte River. 95% of the trail is in deciduous pine and cedar trees. The trail starts at the top of the bluff and rolls down and up drainage to a center spine of cedars about a mile in length. Then it climbs out to the top of the bluff where five switchbacks take users down the 100' bluff face to the river bottom. At the bottom is a 30' cable suspension bridge that allows users to cross drainage (bikes need to go single-file one at a time). The trail continues along the Platte River bank before turning inland for a quarter mile climb up the bluff face, then a few more switchback climbs before riding a cabin sidewalk back to the parking lot.
