Mountain Biking Camden Snow Bowl
#29 of 121 mountain bike trails in Maine
The first part of this trail is NOT easy. You basicaly climb zig-zag-ing up the mountain over rocks and roots for about a mile. That part is a harsh way to start the day. Get warmed up before you start. Once you get up to the left side of the resort the trail levels off and gets more windy with fewer rocks and is a lot of fun. after about a mile of that it starts decending again criss-crossing the mountain sidefor a fun fast ride back down to the bottom. Because of the harsh begining it feels like a lot longer than the 3-4 miles it is said to be. Stop in at Maine Sport on Route 1 for a map. Also, I haer that this course is a NORBA race course, so look out for some trail markers on the trail.

From Camden South on Rt. 1 about a half mile. Take a right on Hosmer Rd. Drive about 5 miles and follow signs. Make a left after the lake into the Snow Bowl Ski Area. Trail starts at the T-Bar to the right of the lodge from the parking lot.
This is a great Maine trail. If you have a fatty or full suspension bring it. The trail is very rocky and rooty but I think that's just how things are when you're under snow a good portion of the year. The number of trails is great, they are well identified and the community has done a great job of making maps available. Grab a bike and head on out you'll enjoy the day and be glad you went.
Thank |Great place to ride. Has some climbs views and great singletrack with more being built all the time by Nemba. Worth checking out if your in the area. Trails marked well enough to get around I climbed the snow bowl rode a loop around the orange then dropped down to the yellow great ride.
Thank |Looks like this was a nice place to ride at one point with many trails created by NEMBA. However, as of today, there's a lot of timber-clearing work going on (presumably for the ski trails) leaving the trails a mess in areas. On the bright side there are still some nice trails to ride so if you're in the area it might be worth a visit.
