Mountain Biking Cane Ridge

#26 of 202 mountain bike trails in Tennessee
#1,216 in the world

About 6.7 mile loop, with the recent opening of phase three. If you want to do the entire loop, keep right at every intersection. Lots of twists and turns, small hills, and gullies to pound through, and a fair cardio chalenge. Closed at 11pm till first light.

Fun Trail system. Loops 1-3 are very smooth and fast, loop 4 is a nice loop with several natural rock obstacles. well worth the time

I've only ridden these trails once, but found them to be well maintained and fun. There aren't any long or steep climbs so most of it can be ridden by beginners. Trail 4 is the most technical and should be avoided by those looking for a smooth ride. It's also nice that the trails are bikes only.

The newer, section 4 is really a blast. Keeps you focused with enough technical sections without overdoing it. Expect to cycle the entire time--few long downhills, great cardio---SUPER Fun overall!

The trail was in decent shape other than phase 3 was a little overgrown on the sides. Phase 3 adds more technical riding to the trail with some rocky limestone outcrops similar to Hamilton Creek or Shutes Branch. The rocks aren't as continuous as these other trails however.

We love this track! As of Dec. 30th 2017 it was a muddy mess. Took over an hour to clean our bikes....otherwise this is the perfect combo of technical and easy.

Rode this today for my 1st time forwards and then backwards. The trail is a blast. Only phase 3 had any technical attributes what so ever. Phase 1 & 2 are easy beginner sections that my 6&7 year old mountain biking daughter's could ride. As stated in another review there are quite a few 6-10 foot up and downs. If you are a beginner mountain biker these and the smaller 2-3 foot drops will may make you fly over the bars if you aren't used to a steep transition out and in. If you're an expert then ride it like you stole it as I did, but you better be able to read a trail in a couple spots. If you've not been riding long then take it easy on the first lap or "two". I guarantee this trail can end a newer mountain bikers season if they aren't careful.

I was astonished to see people with elbow and knee pads on this trail who say they've ridden it many times. Maybe it's harder for a beginner than I give it credit and maybe it's more novice now. Who knows? If Hamilton or Shutes is your style you might get board because it's so smooth!

nice easy trail. most of it is smooth and twisty with few technical features. I didn't make it to the newer part. But, I did 5 miles on the easier stuff. Its funny, some short ups and downs, and quick and flowy. No long downs or ups. Basically one good long trail if you choose, but there ARE escape hatches back if you don't want to go the whole way

This trail is fast and flow-y. Be careful though. There are lots of tight and, often times, off-camber turns, as well as several six to ten foot deep dips have ridiculously steep and exits. You WILL kiss a rim and bottom out your suspension if you take them at a fun speed.

Tons of fun, super flowy with a few optional technical sections. Phase 1 and 2 are easy, phase 3 gets a little more difficult but still fairly easy. The skills loop is good for beginners to learn some minor obsticals. A great starter trail

Nice, well maintained trails. Fairly flat but great for practicing basic skills and building up endurance. Could use a few more obstacles for skill developement.

Great ride. The trails have plenty to challenge advanced riders and alternate routes around for beginners like me. Technical and challenging with plenty room to enjoy.

Great day though I blew a tire and my daughter went over the handle bars once, but it was still a blast.

Rode this trail one evening last week until dark. First time there, had a fun ride. A few obstacles like tree crossings and some fun dips. Mostly smooth single track and pretty quick.
