Mountain Biking Cape Fear Mountain Bike Trail
#115 of 549 mountain bike trails in North Carolina
As of 07/23/2022, 12.5 miles of singletrack wind over and around the area's ravines. -Update- I believe that it's 7.5 miles one way, from Jordan Soccer Complex to the spot near the botanical gardens. That is just the paved trail. In between Clark Park and Jordan soccer complex are many mountain biking trails; over 14 miles. The best spot to access them by is from Clark park going towards Jordan Soccer Complex.

You can access this from several different spots. The first is from Jordan Soccer Complex, the second is Clark park, and the third is near the botanical gardens, where there is a dog park that has a trail that connects to the main trail. I've ridden it a few times. Probably done at least 100 miles on the whole trail in total.

As of 07/23/2022 the Cape Fear Mountain Bike Trail is 12.5 miles. From green to black diamond. All levels will enjoy. It has perfect dirt. No sand. Trail head is at mile marker 3.2 on the Cape Fear River Trail. Follow the GREEN ARROWS for a continuous loop! See for yourself.
Thank |A lot of people have reviewed the wrong trail and are reviewing the Cape Fear River Bike trail which is a paved trail for running, walking, biking. There is a separate trail off of this which is a 2 mile single track. This is an excellent trail for single track beginners or someone looking for a short easy ride. It has minimal elevation gain and obstacles but still makes for an exciting ride. It's not really technical at all, but has a few sharp turns and well kept bridges. If you're looking for a challenge then this isn't the trail for you.
Thank |It's a paved greenway part of the ocean to sea or east coast trail system. Took my girls 9 and 11 and my 62 year old mother on her first bike ride in over 30 years. Great trail with some hill sections covered bridge and Boardwalk. Saw some small waterfalls and crossed over the cape fear river. Many of the people have no trail manner and walk 3 or four wide or let their dog leash all the way out. Caused my mother to crash. Other than that a great family trail will definately return many more times
Thank |This is very limited for mountain biking, and full or walkers/runners. It is fully paved with some elevation changes. Great for running, road biking, or hanging out with the family.
Thank |Don't really take the mountain bike out here. I have taken my road bike out just to blow the dust off of it because it is paved. There are also quite a few geocaches in this area, if you're into that sore of thing.
Thank |Paved, good parking, great for nice family rides. Lots of runners and walkers. Take my family at least twice a month.
Thank |Good cardio and training ride. Really get to stretch your legs out and use your low gears
Thank |I am a beginner but totally enjoyed a lunchtime outing on this trail, Plenty of scenery and wildlife to enjoy. Well marked w/ plenty of security phones.
Thank |The trail and Google map shown are for the All American Trail . Cape Fear River Trail is just south of the VA Hospital. It's completely paved with some elevation changes. It's a good place to bring the family .
Thank |Pavement but nice scenery, nothing demanding good path for more general public friendly.
Thank |Good for family rides with moderate endurance (some hilly areas). Completely paved. Zero technical skills required.
Thank |this is not a singletrack as you can see from the photos, but it's a good relaxing way to get out with the wife and kids and enjoy a nice bike ride through the woods. there are some elevation changes and a pretty steep one on the ride back.
Thank |
