#81 of 307 mountain bike trails in Oregon

This is a true old school single track backcountry experience. This is the IMBA Epic Version and is worthy of the title.

Beautiful area. I choose to shuttle this from the top of Castle Rock, although many ride it both ways. This is approx. 4 miles. Variety of terrain and exposure. With the exception of one rocky area (decent drop) this can be ridden by beginners. Worth the trip from Eugene to try at least once. Not a lot of traffic on it, so it doesn't get terribly nasty when wet.

We did the 26 mile loop version of this which clocks in at around 6000 feet in gain. It is a great trail that will challenge you both physically and technically. In exchange you get solitude, a great downhill, a really satisfying climb and beautiful old school single track. When we did it we did not see any other bikers or hikers the entire day.
