Mountain Biking Cedar Creek Spaghetti Bowl
#21 of 283 mountain bike trails in New Mexico
This can be as long or short as you wish, depending on the route you choose. If you are adventurous and want to explore, this is the perfect place because most every trail leads back to the main trail and for that reason is referred to as the Spaghetti Bowl. In the bowl, mountain bikers have many choices for length of ride and degree of difficulty, but don't worry, you won't get lost. Cedar Creek is a popular choice since it is very close to town yet the trails take you away from the beaten path. Cedar Creek is the perfect place to kick in the gears and elevate that heart rate as you glide among the pines and aspens in their natural habitat. Ride altitude is about 6540 feet.

Across from the Smokey Bear Ranger Station off Mechem Drive (North on 48 from Midtown). Stop by the Smokey Bear Ranger station for a good map... AND BE NICE TO THEM! they really try to be helpful, but there are some obnoxious people who have been VERY demanding and the rangers then are less than helpful.
Very well built trail system. There are multiple parking locations, to include the Cedar Creek campground. From the campground location there is a nice kiosk with a map of the trail network. Signage was good and easy to follow. The trails themselves were constructed with good flow, efficient routing for climbing, and nice drainage.
Thank |Trail was in great shape and dry 3/21/14. Very steep climb. Don't go too far or you will miss the single track. 1600 feet climb then it's all downhill. Fun. Fast and technical.
Thank |This is a very fun trail. There's two sides of the trail which is separated by cedar creek road. The south side behind the fitness park is the easier half considered a "fitness course"... about a half mile climb, then you enjoy the rest of the trail for about 2 miles. It is really fun, and leads you right back to the road for a fun ride back down to the parking area. Love this trail!!!
Thank |Went out there for the first time with a couple friends and we sidnt really know where we where going so we took a hard trail (the climb) but the way down was fun, theres a small downhill trail along the trail as well which looks really fun. Highly recommend these trails.
