From the main trailhead turn left. Stay to the left at the first intersection. Now you have an option to take the next trail to the right and ride the Charcoal trail counter clockwise. If not go to the next intersection and go to the right to ride the Charcoal trail clockwise.
This is a nice moderate trail with some intermediate hills. Some nice tight turns, roots and rocks to keep you from getting board. The landscape is beautiful. The trail has a nice flow in both directions. Just follow the trail markers and all will be fine.
