Trails starts around 5000ft in the high dessert shrubbery. Trail is rather sandy singletrack. It climbs over 6 miles to Knob Point. The singletrack is very well built with benchcuts along the contour of the hills. Half way up you get into the Alpine terrain with pine trees and plenty of shade. After Knob Hill it contines for an additional 3 miles to Clear Creek Rd near Highway 50. All that climbing is worth it when you turn around and are able to go back down what you climbed. Singletrack is flowy, no techinical rocky sections on this one but very fun. Would be a great trail for beginners up to expert riders looking for a great ride. Stays pretty clear year round depending on the Sierra snow pack. Single track was built by the same builder as Ash Canyon trails in town.
