Mountain Biking Cold Springs Trail
#151 of 319 mountain bike trails in Idaho
This two-way trail stretches across 2,500 vertical feet on the mountain's south face. The trail works its way through the wildflowers to Clear Creek Lookout. Here, you can catch your breath while enjoying a stunning view of the Pioneer Mountains.
The lower portion of the trail meanders through the lush woods that Sun Valley's smaller natives, like chipmunks and squirrels, call home.
From the bottom of the Warm Springs Trail and Cold Springs Trail, return to River Run Plaza by accessing the paved Wood River Trail System (bike path).

Part of Bald Mountain
I rode the Cold Springs down hill. It's long at 5 miles as it sidles round the hills with a consistent down-sloping gradient. It can be ridden very fast. It is devoid of MTB features but the views are panoramic. It's a popular ride up the mountain for people who don't want to use the lifts.
Thank |I prefer this route when climbing Bald Mtn so I can descend Warm for an epic loop. Descending Cold could be fun, but the last stretch is fire road which would be lame.
Thank |Most of the trail is a long, consistent downhill that is fairly straight. It does become a bit same-same for me - warms springs trail has more happening.
I do like the section through the pine forest towards the end of the downhill.
Surface is dirt with more rock/shale sections than most trails, so it can be loose sometimes and occasionally rocky. Stay awake!
Also fairly popular s a climb, so watch out for riders coming up, too.
