Mountain Biking Colorado Mountain College Trails

There is a combination of forest road and singletrack here. You will ride some road so you have to keep an eye out for the singletrack. Many of the trails are actually winter ski trails built for the college to teach grooming. In addition, a few miles of good quality IMBA-standard singletrack have been added.

I was vacationing here over the summer and rented a 29er from the local shop. I had a blast on these trails. There is a section of beginner and intermediate trails. They are both well maintained and marked single track that flow very well. I plan to come back in the winter for some fat tire action.

Rode these trails in summertime, small little network of singletrack. Good beginner trail, not tons of up and down, pretty pedaly stuff. Rode all the trails here in an hour I think, so it's pretty quick. Definitely townie trails, not big mountain trails, so know that before you go and figure out what style of trail you're looking to ride.

My review is based upon the winter fat biking, and I must say: the riding here in the winter is really fun! Fast, flowy, twisty, well-groomed fattrack--it's good to be a fat biker in Leadville!

The winter groomed trails for fat biking are just awesome. This is a great place to take a beginner winter fat biker but, also lots of fun for the more experienced rider that wants some fast flowing winter fat biking singletrack.

Very fun if you're looking to be out for an hour and 30 minutes or so.

This is a nice little network easily accessed from town. While it won't provide the epic experience some of the trails in the surrounding mountains will, it makes for a great quickie or training area if you want to do multiple laps. Whenever you break out of the trees, the views are nothing less than spectacular.
