The Colorado Trail runs for 13 miles from Clear Creek Road to Hwy 82. It begins by climbing steeply, but then mellows out and flows along until it reaches the shores of Twin Lakes. The trail then circles the lake, rolling very easily along and offering up great views of the mountains.
Always a nice ride in the summer but a couple of inches (3-4) of snow make it a different ride . Great fat bike ride and the trail doesn't get that much use except for animals from late October-May. Add the loop around Mt. Elbert forebay reservoir for a nice extra that most folks never ride.
Thank |The section of trail that I rode was just around the lakes, and that section was very easy. It looks like the other portion of this ride is more challenging, but more interesting... can't wait to check it out!
