Mountain Biking Colorado Trail: Twin Lakes / Hwy 82 to Half Moon Rd / Mount Massive Wilderness
#958 of 1,392 mountain bike trails in Colorado
The Colorado Trail runs 7.75 miles one way Highway 82 near Twin Lakes to Half Moon Road and the Mount Massive Wilderness Boundary. In a round-trip ride of just under 16 miles it climbs an astonishing 2,900 feet--at least, astonishing for a trail that basically just rolls across the flanks of Mount Elbert. Despite the climbing, all of the vert is pretty easily pedalable, and that climbing gives way to fast, flowy descents through beautiful aspen groves.
