#88 of 114 mountain bike trails in Nevada
Total Elevation Gain: 825 feet
Overall Skill Level: More Difficult
Trail Type Distances: 3.50 mi. 2-track
2.50 mi. single track
Trail Description: From the trailhead, follow a power line 2-track for
approximately 0.25 miles and look for a single track that crosses the gap west of
HWY 305. Once through the gap, the trail intersects with a 2-track and heads up
Dill Canyon for approximately 2 miles, where it returns to single track. After 0.25
miles of single track, climb up a gray rock chute. From the chute, the trail winds
through boulders and brush to the head of the canyon and a saddle. From the
saddle, the trail takes fast banked turns down a canyon to the northern edge of
the mountains, then traverses the base of the mountains north-eastward back the
the Trailhead.

The Copper Basin Bike Trailhead:
Is located on HWY 305 about 2.75 miles south Battle Mountain and I-80. The
trailhead is on the west side of HWY 305 just as you reach the hills. The trail
system is marked with orange flagging and brown Carsonite Signs. The loops
offer a variety of technical and aerobic challenges on a combination of single and
double track trails. Steep Climbs and fast technical descents wind through historic
mining areas, sagebrush covered canyons, and rocky ridge tops in the northern
Battle Mountain Range. Enjoy the trails for a quick 1-hour ride or a weekend long
adventure! Remember to prepare for the heat during summer months by riding at
dusk and dawn and bringing plenty of water.
