The south trailhead is shared with Rapid City's Founders Park at 1510 West Omaha. North TH-The north trailhead is located on Thrush Drive off of West Boulevard.
Other reviews indicate the trail is well marked and easy to follow. This is not completely accurate. There are tons of trail markers with numbered "node" points and trail names. However, the numbers are far more extensive than what is on the trail maps and the trail names don't all match what is on the map. (I recommend taking a picture of the satellite image map at the south end of the trail park entrance.) There are also a lot of trails that are closed for regrowth. DON'T let this review discourage you. This is a beautiful and challenging trail. Just be prepared to do some land navigation. (If you get lost, just turn east and go downhill until you find concrete! lol )
Thank |Great trail system right in Rapid City. Intermediate to challenging fast trails. Great views of Rapid City from the M.
Thank |I only stop by for a quick check in as I was on the way home from Black Hills weekend vacation, i only rode about 1/4 of whole place, I was very impressed! It's definitely designed for MTB. I want to come back to try all loops next time I come back.
Thank |For being right in town this trail can't be beat. This trail has a lot to offer I think we covered almost all of it. Some climbing involved but it is pretty gentle. Some fast and flowy downhill and a few places that are a little technical. I personally liked this trail and would ride it again if I were in the area. Not much on the scenic side but it does have it's moments. Seemed to me that the west side had more shade and the east side was more sun and grass. The trails are well marked and you can't get lost so go out and explore.
Thank |A lot of trail I did not cover, but what I did was simply RADNESS! Whatever that DH flowy trail from top is was simply amazing which is followed by a more mellow stretch of flowy yummy trail. I hit this place on a whim on my way down to Salt Lake, but it's now my staple whenever passing through Rapid City.
Thank |Great Trail System overlooking the City of Rapid City with a vista view of the Black Hills
