Coyote Hills Regional Park is located right on the San Francisco Bay, and many of the trails provide amazing views of the Bay! One of the best trails, the Bay View trail, is paved and is open to bikes. The Red Hill trail is a fire road open to bikes and goes straight up and straight down the hills, providing amazing views but requiring some hiking unless you really keep your speed up. There are a number of other doubletrack trails spread across the park, including some trails heading straight out into the bay on levees with water on both sides! Unfortunately, all of the singletrack trails here are off limits to bikes. It's a pretty complex network, so be sure to study the map at the trailhead well and to check the signs.
Half an hour drive from home, nice place to go biking, while enjoying the fresh air, calming views of the Bay water.
Thank |The best Mountain biking route in Coyote is the Red hill trail that takes you up the spine of the coyote hills. Use the paved bay view trail from visitor center and start the climb up red hill where Bay view trail meets Alameda Creek Trail. Beware though that a couple of places the grade can be pretty steep and perhaps too much for beginner bikers.
Thank |Not amazing. Lots of fire roads. Good for looking at water.
Thank |Fun to do with family easy for little kids.. the ride out onto the bay is not that fun..
Thank |Not really mountain biking, but some good views of the bay. There are a few trails that you can go up in the middle, but mostly asphalt. You can take the gravel trail into the bay.
Thank |There are both a paved trail and some dirt trails. You can ride in various routes making a different ride each time. Overall, a good place to ride.
