The Christchurch Adventure Park is a world-class facility. The Park is the first lift accessed, four-season mountain biking operation on the planet. It will be the first with a chairlift specifically designed for mountain bikes and their riders. It's on a 500 acre site in Christchurch's Port Hills and was developed by Select Evolution of Whistler fame.
The 1.8km high-speed chairlift is capable of taking up to 1200 riders and their bikes up 435 vertical metres each hour. In addition to mountain biking there are zip lines through the forest, rock climbing and a cafe and bar seating up to 180 people.
In short, it's a Whistler style lift-assisted downhill mountain bike park featuring machine made flow trails with lots of jumps, sweeping berms and other fun stuff, as well as hand made trails through forest.
