Mountain Biking Dari-Ekh / Dambadarjaa Hills
#39 of 70 mountain bike trails in Mongolia
From the first top, you can ride north for miles and miles along the tops and in the valleys and up and down long slopes. Most of the track is 4x4, but there is some random ST to be found too, mostly made by cattle and some foot traffic. This is not the prettiest country in Mongolia, but it loses it's snow early in the season, so it is a good place to get some miles in early. The estimate of 50km is just a ballpark figure. And from Dari-Ekh and Dambadarjaa you can access days and days worth of riding in the west end of the Hentii Mountains.

There are many ways to travel into these big hills either from the North Road east of Sansar or from the Seleb Gol Road north of Sansar.
I access the area on a small dirt ger district road (part dirt part cement), which connects to the North Road exactly 1km east of the Border Troops Headquarters in the 15th District. From the North Road turn left on this little dirt road and head north until it connects with pavement (0.5km). Follow the paved road NW until it ends (another 1km). Then just follow the dirt road NW again to the top (another 1km). It's about 2.5k and 120m to the top from the North Road.
You can get to this top using many other routes. This is one of the easier more straight forward routes. You have to go through ger districts to get there, and so many of the routes can get confusing and disorienting.
