Heading out of town, go right on FS637 and then onto the Elder Creek doubletrack, connecting with the Deep Creek trail at the 4 mile mark. At the 6.4 mile mark merge with an old logging road and loop back to town via the Lost Dollar Road and the Telluride Bike Path.

This begins with road riding and the elevation will have us lowlanders gasping for air. Deep Creek always flows. You'll be deep in the forest with occasional views of the town.
