Mountain Biking Dodgeton Creek #1302

****   Add a review
#828 of 1,392 mountain bike trails in Colorado
#8,857 in the world

This is a backcountry two-track multi-use trail. It climbs from about 8600' to over 10,000' over 4.7 miles. It can be used as part of backcountry loop when linked up with Indian Creek Trail (Trail #1300) and then Baker Creek Trail (Trail #1301). The lower half is pretty smooth (and flowy and fast if riding west to east) the upper half half has quite a bit of loose rock, and thus moderately chunky. If ridden as an out and back, it provides a fast, rowdy, mostly downhill return to the trailhead.

If riding west to east, it's a little rough and rowdy on the upper half and fast and flowy on the lower half. Some simply trail maintenance removing much of the loose rock on the upper half would make this an amazing downhill run. There would still be plenty of chunk to keep it interesting, and it would greatly increase the speed in places.
