Mountain Biking Duthie Hill

*****   Add a review
#2 of 1,216 mountain bike trails in Washington
#48 in the world

Evergreen is proud to announce the Duthie Hill Mountain Bike Park. This
park is located on the Issaquah Plateau, just north of Grand Ridge Park.
The park is a nicely wooded 120 acre forest with rolling terrain and well
draining soils. There is a 2.5 acre clearing in the middle, surrounding by
second growth forest. Duthie Hill connects with Grand Ridge Park, which
already has a 6 mile singletrack trail that connects all the way to I-90 in the
south.
Duthie Hill is officially open with phase 1 complete! It includes:
4 flowy XC trails that can be connected into a single 5-6 mile loop
1-2 miles of flowy and technical freeride trails
progressive jump lines / flow lines (VIDEO By Walter Yi:
http://vimeo.com/7497151)
tons of practice and skill-building features
King County has provided a Community Partnership Grant and a Youth
Sports Facilities Grant to help fund the project. Thanks very much to King
County for this awesome opportunity! We will need to find additional
funding to fully build Duthie Hill out to its full potential... so your
contributions -- financial donations, materials/tools donations and volunteer
time -- are vital to the success of the park.

Getting there
The main entrance, parking and the Duthie Hill Lodge address is: 27101 SE
Duthie Hill Road, Issaquah, WA 98029. Google maps will get you there. Park
in the upper lot -- the lower lot is now reserved for King County staff. To
get to the center of the bike park, take the trail that starts across the road
from the southeast corner of the parking lot. Follow that dirt trail south as it
winds behind the lodge, next to a nursery and to the boardwalk. Continue
on the awesome new 600 ft long boardwalk built by Evergreen's awesome
volunteers. :) That will lead you back into the woods... just keep following
the trail and you'll end up in a large clearing or meadow.

On weekends, overflow parking is at Cascade Ridge Elementary School at 2020 Trossachs Boulevard Southeast

I went with a buddy and we crossed the street and took the trail thinking it was part of the park and would circle around, we were wrong. We ended up just turning back about 3 miles in, it was a fun down hill ride on the way back, but kicked my butt getting there. By the time we made it to the actual park I was already tired and my performance was lackluster, I'll be back for sure, seems like a great place to hone skills. Rating is 4 for being unclear where to begin, consult a map and have a plan, don't wing it like we did.

An amazing trail, super fun. Once you can do a double black diamond free ride trail, this park has become perfect. there is also a great variety of intermediate trails, and practice areas to improve. Gravy Train is the perfect trail to learn more advanced features, because the jumps start really small, but the farther you go down the line the jumps get bigger.

What's not to love about this mountain bike park?! Tons of trails covering all skill levels and specialties from free ride to xcountry to down hill. Great place to meet people to ride with. Also gas a great practice park with pump tracks, free ride obstacles and jumps. We had the best time here for my sons 15th birthday when we brought 2 of his newbie friends.

Being A Capitol Forest Downhill Rider, Duthie Hill is designed for Dirt Jumpers which I didn't enjoy and, the XC courses are fun for few hours but get boring. I think if I go back I will go for Tiger Mountain and try that.

This is a great park for those in the area that offers a wide range of opportunities. The trails range from short XC to free ride jump lines. The trails are put together well and I definitely miss living in the area to ride them. Can get wet with multiple puddles on trails after rain but nothing that substantial.

Fun system. I'm a trail/cross country rider and it was a great place to go and get some riding in while visiting the area. Flowy and tight. They've been able to pack a lot into a smallish area. But the highlight has to be that it is a training ground for young/new riders. It is a kick to watch the tykes get up the nerve to practice the small drops. If I'd grown up around this type of park 50ish years ago, I'd never leave the sport.

I can't think of a better place to test your skills or build new ones. All trails are built up and maintained really well plus they range from easy beginner to very challenging to make for a fun time for everyone.

Drenched in awesome sauce! The most fun I've ever had mountain biking. Beautiful park and magnificent trails. Always busy. Parking lot is on the north side and small (~30 cars). Busy most days to very busy on weekends. Trails for all experience levels.

Duthie Hill is a fantastic place to ride whether you are new to the sport or a seasoned veteran with an appetite for a few thrills. It's a great skills development park and has a string of trails that can be linked together for the epic enthusiasts. The trails are in great shape right now - a product of hardwork by the local trail gnomes. As previously noted, parking can be an issue at times -so why not just head to Duthie Hill via Grand Ridge...

Duthie is one of the premier mountain bike destinations in the Seattle area. It is made up of numerous trail from the almost rank beginner to the slope style specialist. Right now the trails are in good shape and ready to be rode. It has something for every one. If I have any complaints it is the fact that it has a small parking lot which forces you to park up the street at the school during periods of peak activity. If you're a XC person Moving On and Step It Up are great. But don't miss Ryan's Eternal Flow; it is just as advertised.

Incredible!! This trail could be rated as expert but so as not to scare away anyone, intermediate seems to be about right.
For every crazy stunt or obstacle there's a ride around. This place is literally a biking playground.
I rode with a local and we chose to ride in from Grand Ridge and although the climbing was tough, the scenery was worth it. I rented a nice Santa Cruz Nomad from Montlake bike shop and had a ball!
