Mountain Biking Eagle Trail
#65 of 319 mountain bike trails in Idaho
From the campground the trail ascends gently. The climb is gradual. You reach the top of a mesa where you can pick up some speed and bounce around off some rocky portions. The views are gorgeous and you can see trails across the valley to peak your interest oin how long yo could actually make the ride. Continue until you see a trail sign. The single track just to the right of the sign will wind you through pristine forest and wild flower lined NARROW single track. The turns are tight and there are enough rocks to keep your adrenaline up as you wind your way down the mountain. You exit at the opposite end of the campground.
There are several side trails if you want to explore more as well as clear vies of trails along the upper ridge of MAgic Mountain which peaked my interest as well.

From Twin Falls, Idaho go south on Blue Lakes Road to Kimberly Road. Tale Kimberly Road to county road G3, Head South on G3 and into Sawtooth National FOrest for approximatley 23 miles. Just past MAgic Mountain there is a campground named Pitman (not the campgrounds "Lower or Upper Pitman). From campsite 1 the trail begins. It exits on the other end of the campground.
My fiance and I took this trail last weekend. It was a great ride; not too many stretches without some shade to relax, rest and take in the awesome views on a hot day. We plan to do it again soon...earlier in the day. I would like to make a correction though; the camping area that the trailhead is located in is "Petit" not "Pitman".
Thank |I'm pretty new to Mountain Biking, but this trail was fun. The way up has little hills and obstacles. At the top as mentioned there is a Mesa were there are a few rock gardens probably the best part of the trail. The way down is very fast and easy to get some speed. The whole trail is very scenic with trees and great views.
