Trails are accessed from Echo Lake, off Westside rd, but most trails require one to ride through the Hales Location community.
The trails are marked with directional arrows and slightly hilly.. Expect to carry your bike over fallen trees and wear protective glasses. My fat bike The Beast handles the trails very well and again tomorrow.
Thank |Copy and paste the link below for an awesome highlight video from the Echo Lake System. Cathedral Ledge and White Horse are not only epic for hiking, but riding too! Be sure to stick to the riding trails and avoid hikers. This is no Sunday casual ride, but an epic journey into the sky. There is some serious tech and hike a bike along the way, but it is well worth the trek. Upper and Lower Stony Ridge trails are a good place to start. Enjoy! I post new videos from different spots around New England every Monday, so be sure to subscribe for more! Link: https://youtu.be/Wc-urBAPvME
Thank |As someone who isn't from NH I had some trouble finding the trails. Only did about 4miles and decided to head some where else. I think I would have had a different experience if I had a guide/map. Don't be alarmed by the outdoor shooting range at the trail head either.
Thank |Echo Lake system isn't as good as the Moat Mtn area south of Echo Lake, but these two areas are pretty much synonymous.
Thank |This area has everything you could want on a trail bike. Flatter loops include the fast and flowy Energizer Loop and the technical Ultimate Singletrack. For more elevation check out Tent Boulder or Sherwood Forest (marked as mineral site trail). If you're feeling ambitious. Climbing up to the summit of Whitehorse ledge provides you with one of the most epic descents you'll find anywhere: a charge down technical, steep singletrack and ridge lines with an amazing backdrop. Link it up with Lower Stoney Ridge for an absurdly fun way down.
The trails are all really well marked to, which is a rare convenience in this area.
