Mountain Biking Elliott Coues Nature Trail
#549 of 549 mountain bike trails in North Carolina
Trail actually used more to walk/hike but bikes permitted. Trail starts/ends near the actual Fort and museum. Trail mostly sand/gravel and runs along beach. Alot of pedestrian wooden bridges. As stated alot of walkers and alot of dogs on leashes, and alot of dirty looks for riding a bike on their trail. Quite a few short steep hills but very beginner friendly and easy to do even with single speed. Trail also used for HS XC races. Drop the family off for the beach and shelling and do a few loops.
