Mountain Biking England Idlewild Mountain Biking Park

****   Add a review
#3 of 108 mountain bike trails in Kentucky
#446 in the world

This park has a little bit of everything for everyone. Trails are mark out very well. It even has a tetter-totter and a few ramps.

Overall one of the best rides within 70 miles of Georgetown Ky. Definitely designed or made by a true Mountain Bike Enthusiast!

This is my local trail and I am here all the time whether I am running the trail or riding it. The trail flows fairly nicely and there is nothing I would consider all that difficult. The only thing to be cautious of is the trail is not one way and the closer you are to the front portion of trails the more likely you are to find hikers. This is not too big of a problem but there is one down hill section around a blind corner that both hikers and bikers frequent so it really prevents recklessly flying around the corner unless you are sure you are the only one on the trail. The other thing to be aware of is the trails sometimes get modified. This happens about once a year and I have yet to see them heavily detour a trail from the original path.

Fun trail system. The trail markings could use a little help, but you will not get lost out here. Nothing that requires a lot of skills, just a good time in the woods!

Had a blast but felt lost much of the time!
Absolutely no trail markings at all. The sloped wood feature was in need of repair it's all broken up. Lots of roots & debris on the trail needs someone to maintain it! . Rode today on a hard tail Specialized. Visiting from so cal. California

Overall this is a nice trail system. This was my first visit but I will certainly be back. Is in need of some signage but overall a nice place to ride.

Really enjoyed this trail system. They squeezed a lot of variety in a small area from easy to relatively advanced.

This is an awesome trail system for beginner to intermediate riders! The trails were leaf covered and could be marked better / more frequently. I'm just getting back on a bike after several years of being idle and all climbs kick my butt. Did a pre ride on some of the trails and getting ready to go back out for a night ride! Will defiantly be returning here whenever I'm in town!

A good place to work on skills, take a recovery ride, or just have fun without too much work. Not a lot of elevation, but there is enough here to keep me entertained for a while. Plenty of miles can be connected here. The pump track is a good time.

quite a cool place but not enough elevation for my liking. they used what they had and the pump track is cool but i like an aggressive decent, am yet to find one here.

Great trails for all levels! Awesome pump track very large! Go on a day with little to no wind for the track. The trail system was amazing great flow as well as technical and advanced sections! Going back ASAP!

Very nice trail system. A fun after work kind of ride, nothing very technical. This trail has very good flow for the amount or lack of elevation. If there were more jumps and some Rock gardens this place would be a 4 or 5 for this area! No elevation per say, only short bursts, I'm not knocking that, because that is all the land has to offer.

For the Cincinnati area, the England Idlewild trails are deserving of a 4 (if you have ridden trails outside of the region, you may say this is a bit high). These trails have been updated and expanded over the past few years and are overall very well maintained.

Now, the actual trails. The trail system starts off in a nondescript parking lot adjacent to a baseball diamond and follows a winding, down-hill trending trail. This 'entry' trail leads you to a valley where most of the other trails connect. The entry trial is tremendous fun as it has great flow and numerous points where you can get your wheels off the ground.

The section at the bottom is made up of 4 or so concentric ring trails, with each one leading into the next. Some of these trails have steep decents/climbs, but are overall pretty even keel, with decent flow. Advanced loop 2 is my favorite as it has a banked, wooden plank section followed by wooden table top jumps that are a tremendous amount of fun.

A new section has recently been added to the trail complex, though it is a bit removed from the rest of the trails. It can be found by taking the bike path to the right just before the entrance to the 'entry trail' - in about a quarter mile there will be a dirt trail that leads into the woods, though it is a bit hard to spot. This trail is excellent, fast, and overall a lot of fun. I hope you go to check it out!

Ive been riding this trail for about a month now and feel like I should give it a proper review. There isn't much acreage so the trails circle each other to make efficient use of the land. Decent single track with moderate flow. Several routes to choose from but several feel the same due to circling the same landscape. The trails are fun, much like a roller-coaster...a wooded roller-coaster that is. It is very rooty and makes for a very bumpy ride. I have a hard tail so I suggest bringing your duel suspension if you have one. Fun ride overall, even has a few obstacles like jumps and teeter-totters to break your neck on. The trail is always maintained and well marked. So if you don't mind going in circles and having a bumpy ride, come check it out.

Best trail I have ever ridden - and I've ridden in 25 different states and three continents. The trail wardens should be given gold medals. Great flow, fast sections, technical section - the only thing missing is a bomber down hill. I'm moving to Kentucky.

This place has a lot to offer riders, awesome singletrack and a BMX style track to warm you up before the trail. I rode just a day after some rain came through the area and it was dry and fast.
Pros: Excellent condition and build quality.
Cons: The drive! From the Eastgate area it can be a real b**** with traffic. Also, if you can get your hands on a map of that would be great. There are a lot of intersections to confuse you. Time restrictions and minor bike maintenance prevented me from exploring more of the trail.
Final: If you live within an hour of this place you have to check it out.
