Traveling south on S Perryville RD just before the intersection Hartwig Drive on the left will be the entrance for the Espenscheid Forest Perserve. After entering on the right will be a small hill with a trail entrance. Ride up the little hill and turn right.
Tight and twisty single track making the most use of a small acerage. Entire loop takes about 30 minutes. All single track.
Thank |Rode this trail December 2021.
Fun trail to ride. There is only 3.7 miles of single track in this park. Its a one way loop, its just not very long. There are a few downhills and uphills, but they are very gradual and easy to ride. Good for a quick workout. Would love to see some more trails constructed over here or if anyone knows who maintains these I would be curious to find out.
Thank |Good trail, it needs lots of maintenance, it is way over grown and has large trees across path. Someone needs to go in and cut some brush back. Other then that is fun trail.
Thank |Great mix of tight twisty single track paired with long fast section that open up to gym rear views of the river. Really a hidden gem.
Thank |First time visiting Espenscheid. I rode with my wife and we were both amazed at the quantity and quality of the trail in such a small area. The single track is tight and twisty with a mix of rocks, roots and hills thrown in. Watch out for the raspberry canes reaching out over the trail. Not very flowy but still fun. Plus you can ride it either direction and it feels totally different. There is also access to grass double track and paved bicycle paths from the park. Beautiful scenery!
Thank |Good trail. A lot of tight corners, not very fast. I am attaching link to the video I made on 1/17/16.

Thank |Nice beginner, lunch loop, or after work ride. Trail ranges from very tight and twisty to moderately open and flowing.
Thank |Good beginner singletrack. A few obstacles. A few muddy areas.
Thank |This is a great place for a quick ride. Tight single track mostly smooth with a few obstacles. I have been teaching my 11 year old son how to ride here. Pretty well maintained but starts to get overgrown as the season goes on. To get a good work out in I usually ride it in both directions.
Thank |I just rode this today for the first time. I wasn't really impressed. The trail continually switches back and you can often see where you will be riding just 10 ft. from the trail you are on. It is a good work-out because you never really get good speed built up because of all the tight turns so it seems like you are constantly accelerating. It is what it is. As much trail as possible inserted into a small space.
