Mountain Biking Etsu Campus Trail System
#64 of 202 mountain bike trails in Tennessee
90% singletrack with several switchbacks. Some sections are rooty and rocky in the woods. Major inmprovements over the last two years. Trails are maintained by the ETSU Cycling team and are always cleared right after storms. 3 sections that make a 5.3 mile loop. Read the map at the kiosk and understand how the trail crosses Southwest Ave to get all the 5.3 miles in. The trail system IS OPEN O THE PUBLIC! you do not have to be a part of student, staff or faculty to use the trail. Watch for trail runners that sometimes use the trails please.

I26 to exit 24 go west on HWY 67, stay on 4-lane for about 2miles, turn left onto Southwest Ave, at 4way stop turn left staying on Southwest Ave., 50ft go under concrete overpass immediate right turn into parking lot. See Kiosk for trail info!
Fun loops right on campus. I certainly recommend riding them if you find yourself driving through or living near Johnson City.
Thank |Heavily covered right now with leaves, but made for a fun, slower ride.
Thank |Pretty average trails with some erosions problems
Thank |This is not a beginner trail. Its more of an intermediate and expert trail. ETSU holds a collegiate race every fall so the trails are very well maintained. Ben Appleby overhauled most of the trail system before graduating. The hardest part for a first time rider is knowing how to transition across Southwest Ave to get to the other part of the trails.
