Mountain Biking Felker's Falls Trail
#52 of 308 mountain bike trails in Ontario
This is a very twisty, technical trail with quite a few log crossings and other obstacles. It is one trail shooting off the Bruce and connecting back to it again.

If you start from the Felker's Falls conservation area parking lot (on Ackland Street) you can follow the paved path to the east until it ends and it will go over a bridge and turn into the Bruce Trail singletrack. Follow that out and wherever the path forks into a Y veer right (not where there are offshoots going STRAIGHT right). After the third Y is where the MTB trail really begins and it hooks back up with the Bruce Trail at the end so you can loop around and do it again if you like!
These MTB trails are a bit hidden and can be fairly technical. Some parts are really fast but short. A few too many obstacles in some spots as well, I also can never tell which way you are supposed to ride the trail. Overall fun trail in Hamilton. If you go to the other side of the falls you can ride on the cliffside which will take you towards the Albion Falls trails down the hill.
I would love to get in touch with the trail builder as this is my backyard and I have noticed some new areas being added. Would love to help.
Thank |I have to admit that I was pleasantly surprised with this trail. When entering from the parking lot, the trail system to the left is pretty easy. Is basically a paved walking trail with some single track off to the side skirting the lip of the drop. If you go to the right when leaving the parking lot, you will find the actual trails. Although it is lacking any major inclines or declines, there are enough twists and turns and Logs to keep it interesting. Helps even more that its within 5 km of my home. Not a trail that I would drive any distance to ride, but is certainly a great trail for weekday evenings when you just want to get the legs spinning and the heart pumping
Thank |Not a cohesive trail system Mix of road single track gravel and double track Be good to get your heart rate up and burn calories/extend your endurance. But not enough features to call it trail riding. There are a few jumps in the lower laying areas but these are not part of the trail (point and shoot at one then reset and point and shoot at the next). A lot of potential with some guidance
Thank |Super fun trails, can't wait till there are more added. I ride this at least a few times a week. There is not a lot of straight sections in this trail so not a lot of speed. Lots of exposed roots, rocks and log crossings. A few tight places between trees. Slight inclines/declines. GREAT scenery!
Thank |Some Local riders stated this trail has only been around about 3 years. It's got some switchbacks, a vegetable tunnel, and a bunch of log crossings, and is predominantly flat with no real grades to be concerned with. XC riders will enjoy this trail. This trail is about 2.7 kilometers from the parking lot to the end which overlooks the CHCH television tower. Riders have options. Also, from the parking lot, if you proceed north on the paved path entering the forrest, you will eventually head west on this path which runs along the escarpment. From there you will see a trail that exits off the paved path. This trail can be ridden quick, it has a lot of roots and in some parts loose gravel. This trail exits back onto the Bruce trail Paved section. About 0.5 kilometers down from that exit, you will see another trail entrance, this one is a bit more tricky, even more roots and loose rock. This again exits onto the paved path just near the old Albion road overlooking the Red Hill Creek Expressway. I would say that the trails in this area would rank between easy and more difficult. I ride this trail almost daily, Loads of fun.
