Mountain Biking Fifteen Mile Creek
#156 of 307 mountain bike trails in Oregon
The trailhead is right in the campground by the outhouse...go down this trail for about 1/2 mile or so...then turn right accross the river...the trail then goes down for about 5 miles or so...some parts are very fast...some technical...but very good single track...one of the best stretches of downhill that i've ever done...but all that fun downhill turns to uphill when you reach the bottom...this is probably the toughest 6 miles of climbing i've ever done...but for some reason i find myself going back to this trail because the downhill is so AWESOME!!..this trail is used mostly on the weekends because it is so far away from everything...so if you go out during the week make sure someone knows where you are...i've been out there during the week and haven't seen a sole.

From I-84 east in Hood River, take exit 64 for Highway 35. Turn right towards Government Camp. Go about 25ish miles on hwy 35 to Dufur Mill Road (FR 44). Turn left and go approx 9 miles to 4420. Turn right on 4420 and go about 2 miles. Turn left at junction on 2730...Campground will be on the left.
Don't waste your time.
We drove a long way on a secluded Forestry Road (paved, which was weird) and climbed over about 6 downed trees (huge) in the first 200 meters.
8 Mile loop is in the same area and we didn't even bother trying to find that trail. We packed up and went to Bend to ride.
I'm sure Hood River has great riding. We just couldn't find it.
