With Foster Park having the folk music festival going on, went out and did this trail. Trailhead is just behind the ag fuel check point just south of the bridge over the Suwannee. Pretty easy, hardly any roots. Navigation was the most difficult - they have blazes and marker posts but there was also a recent prescribed burn plus some confusing temp signage from a recent race. Had to hunt around a little for some connectors and had a trail on north side of the pond dead end or was severely overgrown. Almost missed the best part which was the areas in the dry creek bed and around the sink holes and rock formations - those were cool.

Although in the area of the Stephen Foster Hammond Loop, Gar Pond is a much easier trail. Great beginner trail with some elevation changes, log jumps and hair pin turns to keep it interesting. Local rider advised now is the time to ride because later on (May, June, July) is when the ticks some out. Just a warning. Entrance to parking area set well off the road on the west side south of the Agi inspection station. No facilities.

I liked this trail because of the scenery along the way that included the Suwannee River, gar pond, oak hammock, and natural cave located about 1/4 mile from the end.

Trial was comprised of mostly flat land at first. Toward the end it had a couple of nice hills and climbs. My girlfriend and I went through it very quickly. Nice scenery. Good Beginner course and a nice casual ride.

i was on this trail for Howl at the Moon overnight adventure race organized by Adventurous Concepts. it is on the other side of the Suwannee from Bridge to Bridge trail. gar pond and horse pond right next door make all the difference. they were low on water but i liked the change of scenery nonetheless . also nice Suwanee River views. steep cliffs . trail is not technical but it could be long ride if you loose your sense of direction.
