Mountain Biking Glenbervie Forest Mountain Bike Park
#91 of 171 mountain bike trails in North Island
The Glenbervie Forest trails are set in a commercial pine plantation on steep sided hills. The trails are spread out over a fairly large area linked by forestry roads. They are old-school trails with few worthwhile technical features and are generally tired and neglected. Its an active forest so trails get destroyed from time to time by logging and trimming activities.
When you arrive have a look at the notice board at the car park to see what trails have been shut down by forestry activities. The trails are the work of the Whangarei mountain bike club whose website is at www.bikenorthland.co.nz and they also have a Facebook feed. Neither is very useful for out-of-towners! The locals prefer the Parihika trails and that's where you should go too!
