An easy trail only a couple of short steep sections with loose rocks on them. Lovely views and on a fine day stunning. Stop for a coffee on the Edgewater resort on the way back.

Gorgeous beautiful setting but not much interesting for riding in my opinion. Wide gravel track mostly.

It's a magical 31 km out and back ride around the edge of Lake Wanaka with non-stop gorgeous views of the lake and mountains.
The track is wide and gravelled. You ride it from downtown Wanaka. It starts out mellow but has some steep pinches further round.
It's a trail to ride with friends and your camera on a fine, clear day. You'll be smiling all the way and you'll be spoilt for choices of cafes or pubs when you get back to town!

What a ride. This trail carves its way through the rocks along the shore of Lake Wanaka. There are a lot of technical patches, cliff faces on the sides at parts, and switch back climbs and descents. Careful around the descents, don't go TOO fast. Make sure you have tire treads that don't clog up easy for the beaches. There's 2,3 beach sand patches that will get you stuck. Especially when it's raining, the sand will clog up your treads. The trail is a nice fun challenge, but still easy enough to enjoy the fantastic views of the lake, Mt Aspiring National Park, and the two of Wanaka. There are a lot of spots along the way that you can stop, sit down, and just take in the views.
A serious must-do trail in Wanaka!
