Mountain Biking Porcupine Spring

****   Add a review
#139 of 319 mountain bike trails in Idaho
#7,629 in the world

From the gate follow the old forest road, old 014 road now named and signed Trail 6059. This is an out-and-back ride so ride as far as you like. It is about 12 miles to Goldbug Ridge. Nothing technical about this ride other than some deadfall across the road.

Getting there
From Salmon travel south on US93 ~12 miles to the 12 Mile Creek Road. The rides begin 8 miles up this road at the gate. High clearance vehicles are recommended due to rockfall.

Steady climb of about 1100 ft. on what looks like was an old logging road. Good ride when looking to escape the heat of the valley. Nice view of surrounding mountains at clearing on the summit.
