Mountain Biking Gordon's Pond Trail in Cape Henlopen State Park

****   Add a review
#11 of 22 mountain bike trails in Delaware
#7,728 in the world

The trail is made of fine stone and stone dust and has great views of the sand dunes and the atlantic ocean as well as Gordons Pond and the marsh area around the pond. Part of the trial has a half mile elevated boardwalk over dunes and the marsh area. Connects to junction Breakwater trail and Lewes Georgetown trail.  A library, bakery and bike shops close to trails. Flat, busy on summer weekends

When it says beginner, it means beginner. I took the drive down for a change of scenery (normally ride Lums Pond). This is just crushed gravel with very little elevation change. If you want a nice easy ride, this is it. The scenery was nice, and there was one little section of trail where you could deviate into the woods. However, be warned, that path is used by every tourist biker on a mountain bike. Nice location but if you are an avid mountain biker you won't be satisfied.
