Mountain Biking Grape Creek

This singletrack is far too wide and not very interesting. After a mile, you come to a rather treacherous creek crossing, especially in the spring when the runoff is high. What's on the other side isn't really worth the risk, and then you have to get back. I gave it the two stars just because the scenery is impressive.

Getting there
From the west end of Canon City, head south on 1st street. Take the right that turns in to CR3 aka Temple Canon Road. Follow this for six miles park by the outhouse just before crossing a bridge. Follow the obvious trail to the south.

Don't worry about it being closed. You're not missing out on anything as a biker. Good scenery which you may just as well see on foot or horseback as the "singletrack" was nothing special.

About a mile into the trail it enters a Wildlife area. Foot and horse traffic only now. Too bad, still a beautiful area to hike.

I'm not sure what is going on with this trail but there is a gate with a chain and lock on it before you get down to the creek. There is a sign that says it's private property now.
