Mountain Biking Green Pond Loop

*****   Add a review
#85 of 710 mountain bike trails in Utah
#2,284 in the world

Greenpond is the busiest trail in the snow basin network so check your speed or you'll be running over families hiking with kids and giving us bikers a bad rep. I like doing this trail late right before sunset when most of the traffic is gone. This is one of the smaller loops in the trail network, but a really fun one if you hit it during off-peak hours.

Getting there
From Ogden drive west on I-84 following signs to Snowbasin Ski Resort. Once you turn off of Trappers Loop Road onto Snowbasin Road you only want to drive 1/2 way into the ski resort. Look for a medium size parking area on the right side of the road at the bottom of the hill before it climbs again...this is the Greenpond trailhead.

I was wrong about map orientation as I stated in my previous review. It's oriented north up.

The "get directions" function of this app actually starts you off at the Ard and Nord Dr trail head. Also the trail head maps are oriented S/SE up. Can be confusing if you have never been on this trail system.

Fun, smooth singletrack ride. Perfect for a quick after work ride. Awesome scenery!

This is one of the shorter loops, but a great one if you don't go during peak hours. Super fun trail with great turns, minor technical rock sections, just fun and flowing.
