Mountain Biking Green River

****   Add a review
#16 of 108 mountain bike trails in Kentucky
#1,793 in the world

This network of trails is very well thought out. Something for everyone. Hard to get lost because you are between the road and the lake on most of the trails. Nice hardpack trails that dry fast. Campground at park plus nearby Lodging in Cambellsvile. Email if you need more info!

I love this trail. Probably my favorite of 2018 even though the turkey mites are horrible. Has some rad sections, along with difficult roots. Raced it in the Bluegrass Cup and was all smiles.

I love this trail system. It has everything you could want. The downhill course is super fun. The top loops can be fast and flowy. With the obstacles spread around this is a great place that I would travel to regularly

I know horses have the right to be on the multi purpose trails, but they sure do to tear them up. Rode about 10 miles - most of it felt like I was riding on rumble strips. The horses hooves pull up the soil and loosen rocks. // The MTB only sections were great. I'll go back, but will probably limit my time on the trails shared by horses.

Good track if you live around this area. Track has some really great potential! With some work it could be made into a great riding experience for even advanced riders. Plenty of room to work and grow! Needs to be marked a little better as well.

Trail is super awesome especially with all of the newly created obstacles they've put in. Technical in places. Really great for soft tail bikes, but there is something for everyone here.

I have ridden here all of my life and I haven't ever seen the wooden features as in the photos. However, that tree has always acted as a center point for me. We almost always go to the right of the tree, which leads into a downhill section with a few dirt ramps. Unfortunately, the ramps are not high enough for their long gap and the trail is somewhat unmaintained. If anyone knows where the wooden ramps, berms, etc are please contact me! Feel free to send me a text at
270-995-0726. Too bad the locals don't really have anything to do with the trails. There is some real potential in the green river area!

First off, enter Green River state park, go about 2 miles and you'll see a "trail Head parking" sign on the right and kids foundation thing on the left.
It's too inconsistent, one min it's fast and flowy and the next is roots and loose rocks. Also there doesn't look to be any trail maintenance. The few mounds of dirt it had to emulate ramps were dumped at an angle and not perpendicular to the trail so you're riding up the side of a dirt pile that contains loose rock. They have some trail heads marked very well but others are not marked at all, and the amount of trails branching off other trails is a bit confusing, I grabbed a map at the trail head across from the boys and girls club (it looks like an entrance to a castle). Fox Hollow and Outer Scenic trail have the most interactive things (berms, wood built ramps and bridges, also a set of 3 teeter totters) I ride a hard tail and this trail is good for a full suspension bike. If dirt was put over the tree roots it would be a real good place to ride, also if something doesn't get done parts of that trail will be unrideable due to the ground washing away. I would recommend riding this trail with a friend or someone who's been there before. I stayed on trails that had signs posted "no horses" so the horse tracks were not an issue like other reviews have said. My brakes got quite a workout today due to the grade of the land and amount of roots and rocks.

This was a good experience but a great portion of the park is chopped up by hoof prints in mud. I found myself constantly navigating around mud caused by horses. I found one trail that wasn't stepped on & had a blast but it was the shortest trail that led to the marina. Trail maintenance is poor @ best. Horses & cyclist shouldn't share trails due to the destruction cause by the shoes. This place has good downhill segments but you reach the middle you lose the line due to horses destroying the trail & turning it to mush. If this place was horse free & packed I would give it the 5 that it deserves....

We had a blast here. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 was it was in disrepair but still pretty fast and allot of fun stuff things to jump over. Great place plan on going back. Worth the trip.

If you are starting out at the trailhead across from the boys and girls club, be sure to check out the loop headed north. Crews have worked to construct some berms, jumps and teeter-totters for +3 miles of mtn bike/hike only amusement. This trail offers over 25 miles of good mtn. bike riding, but do be cautious of our equestrian friends. Trail conditino range from sloggy and choppy with deep horse prints, to lightning fast in late summer where LWC hosts a race. Great trail. Underrated gem of central KY

Tons of trails and short loops. My favorite was Lakeshore trail, it was fast and set up just for MTBing. It also comes out on to a sweet "point" on the lake. Many of the trails are also horseback trails so they are a little choppy from the horses but over all this place has no shortage of trails. I scanned a copy of the trail map and put it up on the photo list. Watch out for devil's Canyon Trail the one is not for riding since the floods earlyer this year.
