For a quick ride with just enough high intensity short duration climbing (for an out of shape Clyde) this spot cannot be beat. In less than an hour including drive time, I can get a lot of what people get done at the gym done, in a much nicer environment, doing something I love. I appreciate the breaks it gives me in between climbs. I ride a Raleigh Venture 7 speed bike here exclusively on the quarry trail trying for as many laps as possible without stepping down. Just be cautious enough to safely and politely ride past the walkers, joggers, and people out walking their dogs. This is a great resource to have as far as a bike trail so close to home. I gave it 4 stars because who are we kidding it isn't White Oak Mountain, Enterprise South, or 5 Points. It would quite possibly get 3.5 stars if I did not live so close to it. It was my first mountain bike experience though. My second one was Enterprise South. It definitely could be a stepping stone from "I ride off road" to "I ride easy mountain bike trails". It is much nicer here since they paved all of it. Watch the moss and the grip when the pavement is wet. When there was gravel I got a medium amount of road rash to my right thigh from sliding on the gravel at the bottom of the first descent at that corner. They have fixed that though. I think my brother and I were racing to improve our times or something.
Overall very nice and well maintained trail. Lots of walkers however depending on when you go. One or two steep climbs but the rest is very nice and shady.
