Mountain Biking Haile's Trails

*****   Add a review
#34 of 289 mountain bike trails in Florida
#1,274 in the world

This course is on private property and is only open a few of times a year by the landowners, don't miss the opportunity to ride this trail as the limited usage keeps it in great condition and the terrain is challenging for FL. Expect a nominal fee to have access for the day when open.

Intermediate skill level riding, located around an old rock quarry, many elevation changes using the quarry terrain and medium to long climbs throughout. Hardpack tread base, this course holds up well in rainy conditions except climbs can get very slick due to limestone, lots of singletrack with intermittent jeep roads, the area around the "widowmaker" section is the most demanding.

This is a great trail to visit during race weekends, check www.goneriding.com for dates.

Worth the wait! Love this trail! Challenging climbs! Yes, I know it's Florida...but it has the most climbing I have seen in this area. Beautiful views and scenery.

This is without a doubt the most technical riding in the Gainesville area. This trail rivals any red trail in the Santos system. The trail runs in and out of quarries, making for rooty, rocky, and steep climbs and descents. The trail is privately owned, and only open a few times a year for races. You can ride it without racing by going the day before or on race day after the race ends. The cost is $5. Check out goneriding.com to see when the races are happening, or talk to the crew at Goodbike as they host these races. This trail is not to be missed!

    Here for FSC race.
Very hilly some sections. Bring your long steep hill climbing legs/lungs combo.
Interesting features you ride by and ride thru.
Very nice mix of terrain , perfect for all around training.
Great views of the lakes, which , I suppose, are filled remains of rock quarry.

Very different from most FL trails. There is a lot of climbing and a few technical sections. Not as fun as Santos or Alafia, but it is worth the ride since it is only open 1-2x a year

Road the this trail this weekend and it was amazing. It's a very tough course with a lot if inclines and declines. Better make sure your brakes are in good shape or else you might end up off a cliff. This trail isn't for someone who likes to ride 20 miles through the woods to enjoy the view.* Review edited 10/3/2011

This place was right on the mark, I've been told about this place and that it is only open once a year and That I had to ride it. Well I did and it was awesome. It is going on my calendar to ride this place each year.

Rode this for my first ever mountain bike race. The trail was very interesting and overall pretty fun to ride; however, the trail doesn't really flow very well and it is hard to get into a rhythm on this trail. Think some of these items were introduced to increase the difficulty - blind 90 degree corner into a climb with soft soil. I think I would have preferred a more flowing course. Def worth going out and riding in if you get the chance - the two descents into the rock queries and the climbs out are great.
