Mountain Biking Hanson Lake Trail
#57 of 388 mountain bike trails in Wisconsin
single track trail only, with the main loop going around the lake, and there are a network of other trails spitting off the main trail that loop back to the main trail..can be confusing but if you follow the lake you can make it around pretty easy!! The best way from red gate is follow the trail from the gate to the lake..go down the sandy trail to the beach(easily seen) and looking at the lake start off going right and at every fork in the trail (lots if them!!) stay left and that will lead you all the way around the lake and back to the beach. the trail is hilly and rocky and narrow and a lot of fun!

rhinelander WI near quality Inn and culvers. from kemp st/highway 8/highway 47 intersection, go north on highway 47 and under the train trussel for about 1/2 mile and the trail head is on the left hand side on the corner of highway 47 and hanson lake rd. There is a red gate that marks the beggining of the trail. If you get to a shell gas station you have gone to far. parking on side of the road..no maps of the trail
Wow, what a ride, I'm new to the fat tire world, but what a blast, super challenging for me, but feel very satisfied.
Thank |trail can be very narrow and rocky at times with lots of hills and sharp turns and a couple of drop offs that would land you in the lake..very fun trail
