smooth and loose with a few rocky sections. Lots of options to choose from, bring
a map so you hit them all!

From I-70, head toward the town of Eagle and turn left onto Capital Street. Turn
left onto Sylvan Lake Road, then right onto Eagle Ranch Road. Park at the school
on the right and follow the path southeast to access trails at the end of Horton or
just after Seabry.

Rode for the 1st time. As a flatlander (Austin TX), the climbs were challenging, but descents were fun. There is some serious rutting going on which makes it a bit slower on the descents. I suspect the motocross guys have ripped up some of the terrain. I rode about 8 miles of the trails. School house rock is great, and fun on the return. You'll need to be prepared to climb if you're going to do this trail.
| ThankHuge fan of these trails. Rode up 3rd Gulch to Pipeline to Firebox to Dead Cow to Scratch to World's Greatest to Hockett Gulch (?) to School House Rock. Ass-kicker of a ride, but awesome. World's Greatest is one of the more fun downhills I've ridden in a while, got some of everything - very fast smooth singletrack into baby-head fields, steeps, etc. Awesome. Scratch is a blast, more buff desert singletrack. Hockett is similar, but more moto-style with some fun whoop-di-dos. You've gotta climb out of School House, so keep some legs for that, tough after that ride, but it ends on very fun, flowy, bermed up trail. All in all a great ride, requires some route-finding and navigation.
| ThankRode this in probably not the best direction, but I could see riding down Pipeline being almost as fun as Doc Park in CB. We rode up 3rd Gulch off Arroyo Dr and up Pipeline, then linked over to Firebox, Dead Cow, Scratch, World's Greatest, etc etc. I would definitely recommend riding down (i.e. South-North maybe?) Pipeline if you get a shot. I'm going to next time

| ThankPipeline to Mike's is always an afternoon well spent. I have no idea how to explain the trail to anyone in writing. Up Pippeline to Hardscrabble road. Up another mile or so and catch a singletrack into the woods near a big Doug Fir. You definitely need to go with someone who knows the area.

| ThankSuper fun trail that starts out in a densely wooded area with lots of streams that can still be fairly high till mid June. Trail splits in several areas and you can end up near the bottom of Hardscrabble road or connect with other Eagle trails and end up all the way over in Gypsum. All the trails are clearly marked. Be careful in areas as there tend to be a lot of free range cattle in the area that can turn the trail into a washboard depending on the time of year.
| ThankSure, "World's Greatest" may be an exaggeration, but this is still an excellent route. Most will push a couple steep sections on the climb, but most of it is quite nice. Once on top, the views are excellent and the downhill will throw a bit of everything at you. It's not nicely groomed or maintained, much of it is loose or is merely a rut filled with babyheads, but the good spots are great and will put a smile on your face for sure.
| ThankThis is a great, challenging network of trails on the edge of town. Any route will required a serious climb and a rapid descent, often on loose tread. The climbs through the dry pinion forest are very nice, although some pitches may require pushing. On top, there are broad sagebrush meadows with superb 360 degree views.
| ThankClearly the name is tongue in cheek which makes this a fun trail. The climb isn't too bad and the descent is fast and steep in places. Clearly this trail sees a lot of riders - could it be the name? - so there are some washed out and loose sections. Check it out if you're in the area.
| ThankThere was certainly some fun sections on the way down, but all in all it was a disappointment! There are much better trails in Eagle county and this one should not be high on your list. As it was this was one of the last trails in the county that I have done and I am not sad to have left it for so long. It was so dry, dusty and rutted that the ground felt more like talc powder than solid. Unless you are trying to get some early season riding in before all of the choice trails up valley open or late season before everything gets snowed in don't bother! There is so much better out there!
| ThankGreat trail! The bottom section of World's Greatest can also be accessed by the fence you cross at the end, or the natual gas collection building just past the round-about if you want a short loop. For the road less traveled, take Abrams to Star Wars. Another great ride with less loose rock.
