#6 of 308 mountain bike trails in Ontario
6 Different trails to choose from all leaving from the MTB chalet, ranging from easy to very difficult. Lots of fast twisty singletrack as well as tighty technical stuff and killer climbs. You can easily spend an entire day riding here.

Flowing trail system nothing technical
Thank |I only had enough time to roll Crank'd and Serious. The latter was AMAZING -- it alone was worth the drive up there. I would re-ride it twice next visit before stepping up to Sidewinder.
Thank |I think you wrote this review about Hydrocut and put it here by mstake?
Thank |Great venue for mountain biking of all ages. At the front offices there is a pump track, and a skinnies zone to practice skills. Atop the hill in front of the chalet is a fast and flowy bmx jump/flow course with rollers, table top jumps, and massive berms.
The trails range from easy trails for children, to very technically challenging trails with multiple naturally and man made features.
My personal favourite ride is the trail called gnarly. Given a rating of advanced difficulty, it provides fast flowy descents, challenging climbs, and cool technical sections.
Another amazing element of hardwood is the accessibility to the 5 km of single track made and ridden two years ago at the pan am games by the competitors! Very technically challenging but loads of fun.
Thank |Lots of different trails to choose from, they have green trails that are just dirt singletrack for young kids and beginners and it ranges to expert riding and an anazing loop made for the pan-am games. you will never get lost in the trail system either.
Thank |This trail system is awesome... well mapped out... pretty near impossible to get lost... something for everyone... have done crank'd, serious, sidewinder, and most of gnarly... couldn't conquer the whole thing in one day, but man was it fun... highly recommend it!!!
Thank |Amazing here!! I use their bike repair shop exclusively to service my ride. There is something for everyone here :D
Thank |Amazing trail
Thank |Very well marked and maintained. Very wide range of trails to ride from beginner to Pan Am. I recommend Crank'd :)
Thank |Amazing place here! A trail for everybody, from beginners to Pan-Am riders! Staff is amazing and I wouldn't trust my bike anywhere but at the mechanic at Hardwood.
Thank |Rode there for the first time today.
Very wide range of trails with equal range of levels. Definitely something for everyone here.
The trails are well maintained, and well marked - you won't get lost in here.
The only drawback - aside from the price - is, if your coming from the city, your stuck in cottage traffic either way.
Thank |This is where my girlfriend and I started to MTB Ride and have enjoyed our last 6 visits. Great for beginners to start. Runs are fun, and adventurous. Clean facilities. Excellent staff. Will continue to visit Hardwood Hills.
Thank |MTBer Wonderland ! Great track all around for
Thank |every level - extremely well marked . The beginning climb is a killer so do your self a favor granny gear it or walk your bike up so you can save energy for the trails lol I'm looking forward to doing the PAN AM coarse in 2 weeks !!! EPIC
Hardwood has everything from easy family trails to ridiculous technical stuff. All the trails are out and back bringing you back to the chalet. The downside to this is that you have to ride a kilometre uphill to the start each time
Thank |The trails are well marked and you have to try very hard to get lost.
There is some great flowing single track which is fun to ride. You constantly pop out onto the double track so good for resting, fixing bikes or bailing if it gets too much.
A big downside is the cost to use the trails. It's a once a season or two event for me. There are a great deal of free trails all around the Barrie area but definitely worth checking out at least once!
Pay to play but worth it. A nice little proshop at the base for the last min. necessities. Trails are well maintained and fun with a good variety of technical trails and cruisers.
Thank |Nice mix of trails. Can be fairly sandy in some places and even rides better after a bit of moisture. Worth the entry fee to ride. Popular spot for races.
Thank |Lots of fun! large variety and excellent layout
Thank |I went the day before nationals were being held and many major improvements have been made. New bridges in their trials area, a new pump track, and bridges that you can take apart and design yourself! Also, the trails of Gnarly, Radical, and Sidewinder have been dressed with many new obstacles; bridges, drops, wallride (1), and many rock/natural features. Very well put together and a great place to ride.
Thank |Hardwood is well worth the price of admission, which for the 2014 season is $13.50 HST. The trails were groomed perfectly and well mapped. Hardwood has something for everyone and every skill level. There is 80KM that range from Easy to Very advanced. There is a pumptrack and a features area that includes skinny's, drops and teeter totter. They have a full service chalet, which includes a shop, food, and sitting area. You could easily spend a better part of a day here enjoying the trails with friends and family.
Thank |Hate to pay, but trails are great and there are no worries of getting lost! Very well marked.
