Mountain Biking Helter Skelter

*****   Add a review
#80 of 289 mountain bike trails in Florida

This track is the type of trail that you would find behind a Walmart. It's over grown and trashy. There is that feeling that someone is following behind you as you ride. Go in, get out as fast as you can.

Good climbs and a good ass kicking. Plenty of switchbacks. Don't sit down, you won't be ready for what's around the next turn.

Very challenging but not discouraging trail. Plenty of technical climbs that require your full attention, but you are repaid with a fun descent to finish your ride.

This trail is part of the Mount Dora trails(which are a lot of fun). Due to hurricane Irma it has been closed due to washout from all the rain. I believe the trail builders are working on this.

Very challenging trail with several technical climbs with plenty of roots, rocks, and tight switchbacks. Very gratifying to make every one and the payoff is the awesome flow-oriented descent near the end. The berms are well maintained and allow you to barely touch the brakes if you have the skill (and balls). Something that may be a bit off-putting is the ridiculously tall grass along the sides of the trail. Last time I was there, it grew all the way into the trail to the point I couldn't see the ground. If you are unfamiliar with where the trail goes, you may end up searching for it a bit!

This felt like the most "backyard" trail I've ever ridden. From the beginning, the trees and bushes were overgrown. No complaints! Not all trails are 3 feet wide and cleared. It was a bit trashy, but was still a fun and challenging ride. I did walk a lot of this because I couldn't handle it...
